my wife made @UnbankedMovie, a bitcoin documentary. (tldr: you can rent and watch it NOW. the link is in the first reply) when i started getting into bitcoin years ago i read everything i could find online, but i also had some friends recommend a couple of documentaries for me to watch those films weren’t bad. but they were too bogged down imo with the technical details that everyone was obsessed with at the time, like “the double spending problem” and “distributed ledger” and “proof of work”, all interesting topics but not the real reasons that bitcoin stands out what i really love about this film “unbanked” is that it’s about PEOPLE. it includes chads like @saylor and @jack and @tedcruz and @novogratz and many others explaining what bitcoin means to them, but also everyday people from all over the world whose lives were changed entirely by bitcoin for people who’ve been in bitcoin for a while, it’s a great opportunity to zoom out and remember why we do what we do. but it’s also the best film that you can recommend to someone who’s new. it’s a story about humans, and why bitcoin is for all of us. it’s also probably the most well-produced bitcoin documentary i’ve ever watched, you won’t believe it’s an indie film and not made by one of the large studios! it was pre-released TODAY and you can rent and watch it in the link in the first comment below. thank you for your attention to this matter!
